Jacquard Ferric Ammonium Citrate
USE FOR: Photograms, Sun Printing
USE ON: Natural fabrics, paper, wood, porous surfaces.
Ferric Ammonium Citrate a light-sensitive iron salt that is used in conjunction with #JPF: Potassium Ferricyanide to create sensitizer for Cyanotype printing. Cyanotype is an old photographic printing process that yields a cyan-blue print. Think of it as the SolarFast of the 1800s. The versatility of making unique prints is amazing. Print on any natural fiber including paper, cotton, silk, wool, wood and more.
Digital pictures printed as cyanotypes make great gifts! Need a quick and easy way to make a negative using #JSFF8 Inkjet Film? Jacquard has you covered. Check out their nifty Negative Generator!
To get a rough estimate on how much area these open stock chemicals might cover; the cyanotype kit (#JCSS) has about 2 ounces of Ferric Ammonium Citrate in it and it will cover a 5'x5' piece of fabric, conservatively. Keep in mind that more absorbent fabrics will take more solution.
Container size recommendation:
Got the 8 oz. #JFAC? You'll need the 4 oz. #JPF
Got the 1 lb. #JFAC? You'll need the 8 oz. #JPF
